முதல்ல ப்ரபு கார்த்திக், அப்புறம் ஸ்ரீவத்ஸன்... ரெண்டு பேரும் என்னை மன்னிச்சிருங்கப்பா. நீங்க சொன்னது எல்லாம் எவ்வளவு உண்மைன்னு இப்பொதான் புரியுது. நேத்துதான் சிவாஜி பார்த்தேன். பார்க்க சகிக்கலை. நைட் ஷோ போய் ரெண்டு மணிக்கு திரும்பி வீட்டுக்கு வரும்போது எட்டு கிலோமீட்டர் புலம்பிக்கிட்டே வந்தேன்.
இந்த லட்சனத்துல ப்ரபு கார்த்திக் கிட்டே ஃபோன்லே அரை மணி நேரத்துக்கு மேல நாக்குமேல பல்லு போட்டு சிவாஜியை ஏகத்துக்கு சப்போர்ட் பண்ணிட்டேன். படம் பார்க்காம வக்காலத்து வாங்கின என் புத்தியை ஜோட்டாலயே அடிக்கனும். வீராச்சாமி பண்ணின அளவுகூட இந்தப்படம் என்னை என்டெர்டெய்ன் செய்யலை.
"ரஜினி படம்ன்னா லாஜிக் எல்லாம் தூக்கிபோட்டுட்டு, ஸ்பைடர்மேன் பார்க்கர மாதிரி பார்க்கனும்." அப்ப்டீன்னு சொன்னேன். அப்படித்தான் செஞ்சேன். இருந்தாலும் தாங்கிக்க முடியலை. ஒரு கிரிப்பே இல்லாம, இவ்ளோ கோடி ரூபா போட்டு எதை நம்பி படம் எடுத்தாங்க.. ரஜினி மட்டும்தான் படத்தின் ஒரே ஆறுதல்.
இவ்ளோ பேர் சிவாஜி பத்தி தப்பாபேசியும், சில அதிதீவிர ரஜினி ரசிகர்கள் தங்கள் ப்ளாகில் கருத்து சொல்லாம இருந்ததைப்பார்த்தே நான் புரிஞ்சுக்கிட்டிருக்கனும்.

Naan entertainment nenachu sonnen aana 3 hours thakku piduchu theatre la utkaarndhadhu rombo periya vishayama therinjudhu. Sivaji(Rajini) : 99% Style 1% adhu podhumda Vendruuuuuuu
Keerthi made a big build-up about the movie and I had my own doubts whether he is a kamal fan or rajini fan....Now the news is out from keerthi that sivaji is a below average movie...against all the big fuss the so called media is doing for Sivaji....Here is the actual truth...
sivaji is only doing below average Business outside city limits...When I say city it does even include madurai,coimbatore etc as sivaji is doing excellent business only in Satyam and Devi theatres...in other theatres tickets are available for current booking..Now you could get the idea why it was released simultaneously in number of theatres...to make use of the hype created for the movie and take back the money...Someone mentioned that Alavandhan being a flop and the producer lost lot of money because no one could understand that movie...Producer lost money no doubt...but Dhanu is still in action and making more flop flims than alavandhan...fyi nattukku oru nallavan was a bigger flop on those days than alavanthan... and the producer for that movie Ravichandran(kannada actor) has stopped producing movies after that...as he become bankrupt...Kamal is the only one who could give continuous flops in indian cinema but still come back with some stunning performances...Kamal is a legend in Indian cinema...Unless Rajini decides comes out of his formula films to do more meaningful cinemas like Mullum malarum,Aariliruinthu arupadhu varai...etc..he will be considered as just another actor...

from what i recollect, this is what i wrote about VV.
He begins the movie with a Caption "Another Episode in the Life of a Police Officer". I say "Wow ! That is Isshtyle !". But little did I realize at that point, it was completely a rework of his latest Blockbuster - Kakka Kakka. Gautham had tried Reusability in terms of Story line, Actors and even Character Names. But he may not be able to duplicate the appreciations.. atleast this time. Especially from a Kamal fan, like me.
and even here, i never blamed Rajinikanth. Infact, "ரஜினி மட்டும்தான் படத்தின் ஒரே ஆறுதல்" was what i wrote in.
If you were a regular reader of Avyukta, you'd have known how much I expected out of this movie. I wanted this movie to be a celebration. I may not like Rajinikanth, but i admire his fan base. Whatever i wrote on this blog about Sivaji was honest. I had no purpose of defaming the movie, and who am i to do so. Me writing on this blog is not going to change the spree.
I wrote weeks back that "சிவாஜி - திரைப்படமாக இல்லாமல், ஒரு வைபவமாக நடக்க வேண்டும்"..
I built hopes on that movie. Now dont get started and reasoning that I should not be building expectations from a Rajinikanth movie.

I found Sivaji a nice entertainer. Yes, script seems like a roller-coaster with lots of wheels missing, but hey it is worth watching once. I watched the second time and liked it better than the first time. Ennamo po..
Like A.R.Rahman's music, we have to give time for Sivaji to grow within ourselves.. just kidding. ;)
There we some useless fights and the climax fight was really a streeeeeeech. Other than that, it was good! Especially Shreya.. ennatha solla!

First of all answer to the question is vv a better film than sivaji...answer is yes...
1) gowtham did not take 2 years to complete it(movie got delayed because of financial reasons and not for reasons like what sivaj got delayed for)
2)it was made at a shoe string budget of 10 crores.
3)Gowtham is of course a better director than shankar...shankar cannot come out of his so called formula films...do not expect suprises from shankar...at least gowtham have more of natural flavour to it...not stero typed like shankar films...
Coming back to your argument of kamal-sp muthuraman combo...fyi it is rajini who paired with sp muthuraman more than kamal(kamal 11,rajini 20)...you could count kamal's so called masala films these days...but are there any good films in recent days to count like that for rajini...no...if rajini name could sell for anything what is the fate for baba...if sivaji is running in city it is because of the shankar+rajini combo deal and not for rajini...talking about kpunal could rajini replicate kpunal...never even in your dreams...rajini can only be seen as rajinikanth in his movies and never be indentified as a character..But kamal could be identified with humpty number of characters in his movies...you remember the character names rather than kamal...
